Do you have a mirror in your pocket, cuz I see myself in your pants.
Ahh the pick up line. How many times have been to the club/bar and been approached by the most gorgeous man only to hear the stupidest thing come out of his mouth. Men have been using lame, crude, disgusting, and rarely the charming pick up line since the dawn of time. I can only imagine the first caveman saying this gem, “Come here often?” So the question is, do they still work? The majority of my friends are male, so I decided to ask them. Lamont told me in his younger years, he tried every one he could think with minimal results. Women laughed at him, some cursed, some just ignored but every once in a while one was amused enough to talk to him. Now that he’s older (40’s), he just deal with them at all. “If I see a woman I’m interested in, I just go up to her and start a convo with a simple, Hi. It’s so much easier to just cut through the bullsh*t.” Oh those words of wisdom. Jon, now in his 30’s, told me he loves to use them and one of his favorites is, “If you stood in front of a mirror and held up 11 roses, you would see 12 of the most beautiful things in the world.” He told sometimes they don’t work, but the majority of the time they do depending on how you use it. For example, “If I see a woman I’m interested in talking to and she’s looking bored, just sitting there, I’ll try a really cheesy pick up line to make her laugh. Every line I use, I follow up with something real. I just tell her that I really wanted to talk to her, after all I don’t want her to think I’m sleazy.” More words of wisdom. In my own experience, I’ve heard the good, the bad, and the ugly of pick up lines. The worst one to date that I ever heard was, “That dress is very becoming, if I was on you I’d be coming too”. Let’s just say he got a drink in his face for that one. I guess all in all, pick up lines work if you use them right. Don’t depend on them to get a lady, use something real too. A lof men don’t understand that a simple Hello and a compliment will do the trick. We’re a lot more open to those kind of conversation starters because they’re real, and we don’t feel like a piece of meat some guy is trying to get his paws on. So ladies, and fellas too, let me know what are some of the worst pick up lines you ever heard or used. I would LOVE to hear them.

I agree that a lot of men don’t understand that a simple Hello and a compliment. Most of the men I was with never respected me however my husband does. Strangely enough my husband probably said one of the worst chat up lines ever, but it was the way he said it that made me fall for him. He said When God modelled women he modelled them on you. I fell for it. I think because he said it so genuinely but, then I found out it was his chat up line with every woman he liked. However I was the one it worked on and we have been together ever since.
